The Ford Expedition is a full-size sport-utility vehicle, based on the same architecture and powertrains that also make up the Ford F-150 and the Lincoln Navigator. It was first built for the 1997 model year, and effectively replaced Ford's old Bronco two-door sport-ute. Sized between the smaller Explorer and the now-discontinued Ford Excursion, the Expedition gained a long-wheelbase EL model in its second generation to better compete against the Chevrolet Suburban. In addition to that SUV, the Expedition also competes against the Nissan Armada, the Toyota Sequoia, and the GMC Yukon.

The first generation Expedition was produced from 1997 to 2002. Sharing the F-Series platform of the day, the Expedition could seat up to nine passengers. Buyers could choose either a 4.6-liter V-8 coupled to a four-speed automatic or a 5.4-liter V-8 with a four-speed automatic. Power output of 215 horsepower in the smaller engine rose to 240 hp with an upgrade in the 2000 model year; the larger V-8 saw power rise from 230 hp to 260 hp at the same time. The upgrades synced with a revised front end and rear end, the addition of side airbags as an option, and the availability of rear parking sensors.

The Ford Bronco was unveiled at the 2004 North American International Auto Show, this concept version of Ford's pioneering 1960s sport utility vehicle retains the original Bronco's authentic, no-nonsense design.

For a more open-air ride, the Bronco concept's roof is made up of two separate sections, the rear portion of which can be removed. Roll bar accents can then be attached for a look that recalls a Baja racer or the customized "Baja Broncos" Ford offered in the 1970s.

Adding to the Bronco concept's power is a nitrous oxide "boost," similar to the power enhancement function of traditional hot rods. At the press of a button, a blast of nitrous oxide is injected into the engine. During combustion, the gas is broken down into nitrogen and oxygen, allowing more fuel to burn.

From the first Fordson in 1917 through the latest and most modern Ford tractors of Fiat Agri, the Ford farm tractors held an important role in changing the way agriculture and other work was conducted. The Ford tractors were not the first such machines, and not always the best such machines, but they were the first to be produced on a massive scale and the first farm tractors to be affordable by average farmers and rural citizens. Henry Ford believed that his tractors were the key to eliminating war and improving the human condition, and perhaps in the end he was partially correct. The Ford tractors have provided food enough for the population of the world to grow exponentially and have improved the standards of living beyond anything that could have been imagined in 1917.
